Two-time Team USA Trials champion Danielle McEwan is no longer holding down the anchor spot in FDU’s lineup, but the Knights still received plenty of production from that position during their first competition of the 2013-14 season. Vizenfeld, who earned All-American status alongside McEwan last year, made a seamless transition into the anchor spot during the season-opening New Jersey Jamboree. Helping the Knights post the second-highest pinfall and second-best win percentage at the annual tournament, Vizenfeld averaged 22.15 pins per frame over the course of 13 matches. In addition to posting the highest overall frame average of all NEC bowlers at the Jersey Jamboree, Vizenfeld topped all individuals during the traditional team play portion of the meet. Her 219.7 six-game traditional average earned her Tournament MVP honors and helped FDU to a 5-1 record on the second day of the three-day event. Her play led the Knights to a trio of victories over teams who qualified for last year’s NCAA Championships. She started with a 209-pin performance in a win over No. 4 Arkansas State. Her 220 game spearheaded the Knights’ 121-pin defeat of 2013 NCAA Runner-up Vanderbilt. She was perfect through the first nine frames of a victory over No. 8 Wisconsin-Whitewater before finishing with a 265 score. Vizenfeld was even more effective during the baker play portion of the Jersey Jamboree. Helping FDU top Arkansas State for the second straight day, this time in Sunday’s best-of-7 third-place baker match, Vizenfeld came through with clutch tenth-frame strikes in Game 3 and Game 5 wins. Over the three days, the native of Israel posted a .918 filled frames percentage and threw 99 strikes in 168 chances (.589).
