SanGiacomo put his accuracy on full display during Central Connecticut’s triumphant trip to Staten Island. Accounting for the highest single-game completion percentage by a NEC passer this season, the sophomore went 22-of-25 passing for 263 yards and three touchdowns in a runaway win over 2012 NEC champion Wagner. After two of SanGiacomo’s first three attempts fell incomplete, the CCSU signal caller proceeded to complete 18 passes in a row. The streak ended on a 1st-and-10 play early in the fourth quarter, and, again, SanGiacomo responded. His next throw was a 59-yard touchdown strike that pushed Central’s lead to 31-17 with 12:08 remaining. SanGiacomo was not sacked and logged one rush for four yards in the 52-17 victory that moved CCSU within one-half game of first place. SanGiacomo’s 88.0 percent completion rate surpassed the 21-of-28 (75.0) performance that Duquesne’s Dillon Buechel put forth in a Week 1 victory over Albany.
