Pressed into duty with Paul Jones unavailable, Prather picked the perfect time to shine during his Robert Morris debut at defending NEC champion Wagner. The redshirt freshman, who came to RMU from Akron, threw his first two career touchdown passes over the final 7:30 of the 17-13 NEC road win. He finished the game 17-of-33 passing for 204 yards. His 10-yard strike to Duane Mitchell tied the game with 7:09 remaining, but after Wagner’s David Lopez converted a late field goal, Prather was forced to work some two-minute magic. The rookie responded, driving the Colonials 63 yards in eight plays for the game-winning score. On a 4th-and-2 play from Wagner’s 11-yard line, Prather hit tight end Tyler Digby over the middle for the decisive touchdown.
