Eddie entered Week 9 as the second-leading punt returner in FCS and the third-year Colonial again put his talent on display in RMU’s win at Wagner. The kick-returning cornerback saw his average dip a bit, but his output was still meaningful. Eddie returned six punts for a total of 99 yards in the 17-13 road victory. After a fair catch followed by returns of 1 and 7 yards, Eddie broke loose. The junior’s third return of the day went for 33 yards and set up RMU’s first scoring drive of the day. He ran another punt back 26 yards late in the third quarter, helping the Colonials take an edge in the field position battle heading into the fourth quarter of a tight game. Eddie’s final return was key to the game’s outcome. He took an AJ Firestone punt 25 yards into Wagner territory and drew a personal foul penalty that tacked another 15 yards onto the play. Set up at the Wagner 20, RMU’s offense punched in the game-tying score two plays later.
