Abele posted a clean sheet in Central Connecticut’s lone game of the week, preserving a 1-nil victory over NEC preseason favorite Fairleigh Dickinson. Helping the Blue Devils move to a perfect 3-0-0 in conference play, the junior goalkeeper made a season-high nine saves against a Fairleigh Dickinson side that had yet to suffer a shutout this season. Abele turned in arguably his best performance of the season to make Jose Gamboa’s 5th-minute tally hold up as the game-winner. Abele turned aside three shots on goal over the game’s final 17 minutes as FDU scurried in an attempt to find the equalizer.
