Fruean spearheaded a defensive effort that was at the core of Saint Francis’ convincing victory over FCS Independent Monmouth. The senior linebacker totaled eight tackles and was rather disruptive to Monmouth’s passing attack. Fruean recorded 2.0 sacks, a quarterback hurry and a pass break-up as the Red Flash limited the Hawks to 81 pass yards over the course of the 28-10 win. Accomplishing something that not even nationally-ranked Montana State and Lehigh were able to do during their wins over Monmouth, Saint Francis held the Hawks under 200 yards of total offense (191). Fruean did not surrender a first down on any of his eight tackles, four of which resulted in a loss of yardage for Monmouth’s offense.
