Jerome’s third-quarter interception in Saint Francis’ NEC opener at Central Connecticut set up a touchdown while also moving the rookie into a tie for the league lead in picks. With Central Connecticut holding a 28-10 lead and looking for more in SFU territory, Jerome pulled in an overthrown pass and returned it 65 yards down to CCSU’s 5-yard line. The Red Flash, who were in the process of trimming a 25-point halftime deficit down to two, scored a touchdown two plays later. Jerome also made seven tackles in the 39-28 setback at CCSU. He sits tied atop the NEC leader board in interceptions (3) with sophomore teammate Daquan Minter and Sacred Heart’s JD Roussel.
