Shinkowitz scored one goal and notched an assist in LIU’s 5-1 defeat of Saint Peter’s on Friday. The 5-1 score marked the Blackbirds highest scoring output in over five seasons. The New Jersey native assisted on the eventual game-winning tally on a cross to classmate Jenn Peters in the 22nd minute to put LIU up 2-0. In the 61st minute, Shinkowitz found the back of the net, blasting a 25 yard shot to the upper-right corner for her first collegiate goal. Two days later, Shinkowitz had a golden attempt to put LIU on the board in the 17th minute but was denied from close range in a 1-0 loss at Harvard.
