Verrette scored her second and third goals of the season on Sunday, both coming in Sacred Heart’s 5-1 victory over America East rival UMass Lowell. The junior took six shots but put home back-to-back goals within two minutes of each other. First, Verrette turned and fired one past UMass goalie Jill Carlson in the 53rd minute after a scramble for the ball in the top of the UMass Lowell box. On Verrette's second goal, she deposited a beautiful through ball from Alexis Parlato into the bottom left corner of the goal to give SHU a 3-0 advantage. Verrette’s two goals led the Pioneers to their highest goal total (5) since a 5-1 win over Mount St. Mary’s on November 1st, 2009. Verette, who earned her first-ever NEC Player of the Week honor, also fired seven of her team's 14 shots in a 1-0 setback to Columbia last Tuesday.
