Canevari’s two rushing touchdowns helped Bryant jump out to a 16-7 over CAA member Maine in what was a battle of 2-0 teams. The rookie running back finished with 96 yards on 18 carries in the eventual 35-22 road defeat. After the host Black Bears, who defeated FBS member Massachusetts in Week 2, jumped out to a 7-0 lead, Canevari and the Bulldogs answered right back. The Don Bosco Prep (NJ) product capped a 10-play, 70-yard drive with a 7-yard touchdown burst with 4:36 left in the opening quarter. Less than 2:00 later, Canevari was back in the end zone after breaking free for a 42-yard scoring scamper. Canevari, who averaged 5.3 yards per rush at Maine, has amassed 214 yards and three touchdowns on 46 carries over his first three collegiate contests.
