Foit, the reigning NEC Player of the Year, posted 25 kills over the course of three matches to open the year for the defending NEC champion Blackbirds. In LIU’s match against #9 Florida, Foit recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. She helped the Blackbirds rally from behind and fend off a Gator match point and go on to win the third set. In LIU’s first win of the season against New Orleans, Foit rattled off five service aces and eight kills. Foit averaged 2.5 kills and 2.1 digs per set to go along with seven service aces.
