Rinn retains the NEC Rookie of the Week award after contributing to another NEC series victory for Bryant. Extending his hitting streak to 10 games in a row, the first baseman logged at least one base knock in each of Bryant’s four contests with Monmouth. Rinn struck out only once and went 6-for-13 (.462) at the plate with two RBI and two runs over the four-game sample. Following a 1-for-4 performance in Friday’s series opener, a 4-1 loss for Bryant, Rinn rebounded and was a key contributor during Saturday’s doubleheader sweep. The first baseman connected on two hits, drove in a run and scored a run in the Bulldogs’ 9-0 Game 2 win. With Bryant and Monmouth tied in the seventh inning of Game 3, which was the nightcap of Saturday’s double dip, Rinn sparked the game-winning rally. With one out and no one on base, Rinn singled on a 2-0 pitch and eventually scored the winning run on Jordan Mountford’s walk-off single two batters later. Rinn played a flawless first base for Bryant during the key NEC series, which pitted the first and second-place teams against one another. He was error-free in fielding 54 chances and his sparkling scoop of a ball in the dirt helped prevent a big inning in Game 2.
