Rinn logged at least one hit and RBI in each of Bryant’s five games last week. The rookie first baseman batted .387 (7-for-18) with handful of clutch hits that resulted in seven RBI. Rinn, who fielded 32 chances without an error last week, went 2-for-5 with an RBI in a mid-week non-conference victory over CAA member Northeastern. He continued to contribute as Bryant traveled to New Britain for a four-game NEC set with Central Connecticut. Helping the Bulldogs notch a series sweep that bumped their NEC record to 20-4, Rinn recorded six hits, including four doubles, and six RBI. Rinn’s two-run double in the first inning of Game 2 would be all the run production Kevin McAvoy would need in an eventual 4-1 win. Rinn rocked a double off the centerfield wall to break a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning of Bryant’s Game 3 victory. In the series finale, a 6-2 Bryant triumph, Rinn opened the scoring with a fourth-inning, two-run double to left-center.
