Krell keeps the NEC Track Athlete of the Week award in Central Connecticut’s possession, earning the honor that his distance teammate Brian Biekert captured last week. The CCSU senior took over the Northeast Conference lead in the 10K in what was his final tune-up for the league’s championship meet. Krell clocked in at 30:53.31 while competing in the Penn Relays Championship Race. The time, which is nearly 15 seconds faster than the IC4A Championship qualifying standard, moved Krell past Wagner’s Zachary Spector and into the top spot of the NEC performance list.
