Kelich, now a three-time NEC Pitcher of the Week this season, kept LIU Brooklyn at bay over 7.0 scoreless innings during Friday’s NEC series opener in Smithfield. Bryant’s No. 1 starter bumped his career record to 29-10 overall by limiting the Blackbirds to four hits and not issuing a single base on balls. He struck out two batters and was extremely efficient with his pitches. Kelich fired 80 pitches before handing over a 10-0 lead over to the Bulldogs’ bullpen. He pitched to an 0.57 WHIP (Walks + Hits per IP) and retired the last 10 batters he faced in order. The 2012 NEC Pitcher of the Year has made 10 starts thus far this season, going 6-3 with a 2.06 ERA.
