Morris posted the lowest WHIP (0.43) of any Northeast Conference starter last week. Picking up his first career complete-game victory, the Seahawks’ southpaw silenced Quinnipiac’s bats in Game 2 of a four-game NEC set. Morris surrendered only three hits and one unearned run over 7.0 innings to notch a 3-1 victory over the Bobcats. The junior hurler fanned seven batters and walked no one. He set down the first six Bobcats to step to the play in the first half of Saturday’s doubleheader in Hamden. After allowing an unearned run in the third frame, he came back to strike out the side in the fourth. He capped his career-high 7.0 innings of work by striking out the final two batters he faced. Morris has now not allowed an earned run over his last 17.2 innings and has 22 strikeouts with a 1.14 ERA over 23.2 innings during league play.
