Trimarco tossed 15.0 innings of one-run ball last week and has two victories to show for it. The rookie lefty made two lengthy appearances on the hill, one as a starter and the other as a reliever. All told, he limited the opposition to one run, 12 hits and two walks, while striking out eight batters over the course of 15.0 frames. Trimarco took the ball for Monmouth’s mid-week tilt with CAA member Hofstra and spun 8.0 effective innings to earn a 5-1 victory. The southpaw scattered nine hits and allowed only one third-inning run during the outing. As it turns out, Monmouth would call on the rookie in Game 3 of its weekend set against Wagner and the lefty answered the bell. Entering in the first inning to replace the Hawks’ struggling starter, Trimarco was magnificent. After putting out the first-inning fire, the first-year Hawk went on to complete the game as Monmouth battled back for a 7-3 victory. He logged 7.0 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and a walk, while striking out six. For the season, he owns a 3-0 record with a microscopic 0.40 ERA through seven appearances.
