Schlitter silenced Quinnipiac during Game 3 of Bryant’s four-game series sweep. The junior right-hander took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning and finished with a complete-game, one-hit shutout as the Bulldogs’ 4-0 triumph over the Bobcats extended the team’s win streak to 17 in a row. Schlitter allowed only two Bobcats to reach base (via walk and fielding error) over the game’s first 6.1 innings. Standing two outs away from notching the NEC’s first no-hitter of the 2013 season, Schlitter watched Vince Guglietti derail his plans. Quinnipiac’s No. 3 hitter doubled down the rightfield line for the Bobcats’ lone baseknock of the day. Schlitter responded by inducing back-to-back groundouts to end the game and keep the shutout intact. He struck out four batters and recorded 12 groundball outs on his way to nailing down the seven-inning, complete-game victory.
