Guida was as good as it gets during Monmouth’s four-game sweep of Mount St. Mary’s. The Hawks’ starting shortstop batted a team-best .625 (10-for-16) with 10 RBI and five runs scored during Monmouth’s four-game weekend stay in Emmitsburg. Guida notched three extra-base hits (2 HR, 2B) on his way to posting a 1.062 slugging percentage. He was error-free in the field and drove in at least one run at the plate in each of the four games. Willing and able to do whatever the situation called for, Guida also laid down three successful sacrifice bunts, one in each of the series’ first three contests. The shortstop went yard in each of the series’ final two contests, including a grand slam that highlighted a 3-for-3 performance in Game 3. Guida was a near-impossible out during the back end of the four-game set, following up his three-hit Game 3 performance by going 4-for-6 with two RBI and three runs scored in the finale.
