The early indication is that Whitmore will be in the mix for the 100m title when the NEC Outdoor Championships commence in May. The first-year Mountaineer has twice contested the event this season and came in under the ECAC Championship qualifying standard on both occasions. After opening her outdoor collegiate career by clocking in at 11.94 at the Wake Forest Open on March 15, Whitmore took to the track again at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational. The Keystone State product needed to run only a 12.04 to take first place at the meet. Whitmore currently sits in a tie for second place on the NEC season leader board.
