McGee made a habit of finishing what he started during the month of March. For the third weekend in a row, the southpaw took the ball for Monmouth’s series opener and twirled a complete-game victory. This time, McGee victimized NEC rival Central Connecticut, which entered the weekend set sporting a league-leading .294 team batting average. The lefty workhorse, who has not allowed a run since the fourth inning of a 3-1 win at VCU on March 15, scattered four hits over 9.0 scoreless innings against the Blue Devils. He allowed one free pass and struck out six batters, needing 116 pitches to complete the effort. While securing his second straight shutout, McGee did not surrender an extra-base hit. The Garden State product took a 3-0 lead into the ninth against the top of the CCSU order. He allowed a two-out single to outfielder JP Sportman, a 2012 all-NEC selection, before inducing a harmless fly out from Tyler McIntyre to end it. McGee is 3-0 over his last three starts, having allowed only one run over 27.0 innings of work.
