Massa was nothing short of spectacular as the Bryant Bulldogs opened their NEC slate with a 1-0 record, defeating Quinnipiac 17-7 at home. The reigning NEC Rookie of the Year won 24 of 28 faceoffs taken and accumulated 19 ground balls, a mark that ranks second in the NEC behind his previous 21 set against Albany earlier this season. He was instrumental as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-2 advantage in the first quarter, winning all nine attempts taken (9-9). He also dished out one assist, on a goal by Mason Poli that made it 5-0 in the opening stanza. Earlier in the week, Massa went 13-of-23 and nabbed 11 ground balls in a 10-9 setback at the hands of Providence. He also accumulated three points on the strength of a goal and two assists in that game. For the week, he won 73 percent of his faceoffs taken and scooped up 30 ground balls while contributing four points on offense. Massa leads the NEC in faceoff winning percentage (.696), faceoff wins (158) and ranks tops in both the league and country in ground balls (122) and ground balls per game (12.20).
