While Rapoport delivered a dominating performance in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Saint Francis U’s Rafaella Panizza on Sunday, her most impressive effort may have come a day earlier in a setback to Harvard’s Hideko Tachibana. Tachibana, a former Ivy League Rookie of the Year and All-Ivy first teamer a year ago, raced out to a 6-2 first set victory in their #1 flight match, but Rapoport roared back with a 6-4 win in the second set. Tachibana outlasted the 2011-12 NEC Player of the Year in the decisive third set, winning by a 10-7 margin. Rapoport also teamed up with Nicole Chis for an 8-2 win against SFU and an 8-5 triumph versus Harvard. The Moscow native is a perfect 2-0 in both singles and doubles in NEC play this season.
