Thomas tossed a seven-inning gem in the series finale to earn Quinnipiac a split with Monmouth. Picking up his first collegiate win in the process, the freshman lefty blanked Monmouth for the first 5.0 frames and left with a 5-1 lead after 7.0 innings. He scattered six hits and pitched to a 1.14 WHIP (Walks+Hits/IP), striking out four Hawks and walking only two. Thomas was touched for a run in the sixth inning, but was able to pitch out of a one-out jam with runners on the corners before exiting the game. To date, Thomas is 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA with one run allowed over 12 innings pitched.
