Pompeani surged from ninth place to first place in the final round of play at the Lonnie Barton Invitational at the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Colonials finished in third place at the 36-hole event. The senior opened play with an 80, but found five strokes Tuesday to surge into first place with a final round 75. The victory is the third of Pompeani’s career, one shy of the Robert Morris career record of four held by C.G. Mercatoris (2007-11).
