Medina was back in his native New York City for what turned out to be a happy homecoming as Sacred Heart won two of three games played in the Bronx. The first-year Pioneer collected five hits and drove in the first four runs of his collegiate career over a pair of starts at Fordham’s Frankie Frisch Invitational. Manning the hot corner in victories over Saint Peter’s and Fordham, Medina went 5-for-7 (.714) at the plate with a triple, a stolen base, two sacrifices, four RBI and four runs scored. He recorded the first multi-hit game of his career by going 2-for-3 with two runs and a RBI in the weekend opener against Saint Peter’s. He sparked a rally with a leadoff single in the sixth inning and notched his first RBI on a base hit one frame later. Medina followed up the 7-2 victory over Saint Peter’s by accounting for a three-hit day in a 9-1 rout of A-10 member Fordham. The rookie laced a bases-clearing triple to bring home three runs in the fourth inning, staking the Pioneers to a 5-0 lead.
