Panzanella was the leading player in Sacred Heart’s success-filled showing at Morgan State’s James Brown Invitational. The third-year Pioneer executed on a high level for much of the three-day, 26-team tournament, completing the weekend with a team-high 19.92 overall frame average.  Bowling out of the leadoff spot, Panzanella was a driving force behind Sacred Heart’s 9-2 record, which featured wins over No. 1 Central Missouri and No. 3 Nebraska.  Her efficiency converting makeable spares was key to her success.  Panzanella made 26 of 27 one-pin spare attempts throughout the weekend. Her lone miss came during her only rough patch of the weekend, late in traditional team play. Other than sub-par showings in the final two traditional team matches on Saturday, Panzanella was sensational.  The junior righty was one of three Pioneers to eclipse the 200-pin mark in a team win over National No. 1 CMU. Opening what head coach Becky Kregling later called “the best weekend of her collegiate career,” Panzanella filled all frames bowled in a baker match against No. 4 Arkansas State. Despite her team-leading 20.78 pins per frame, Sacred Heart dropped a 797-747 decision. Two matches later, Panzanella and the Pioneers had another chance to knock off a Top 5 opponent, and they took advantage. With Panzanella striking on her last four shots of the baker contest, Sacred Heart knocked off No. 3 Nebraska.  SHU’s leadoff bowler saved her best day for Sunday’s best-of-seven baker competition.  She averaged 21.62 pins per frame as the Pioneers posted wins over NEC rival Saint Francis (PA) as well as Norfolk State. In a 4-0 sweep of the Red Flash, Panzanella struck on six of eight shots with a washout on her last ball standing as her lone open frame of the day.
