Scalley put on a combined 10-point performance as Mount St. Mary’s split its first two games of the season, falling to second-ranked Maryland before upsetting then-No. 18 Bucknell by a 12-11 count. Against the Bison, Scalley had a hand in eight of his team’s 12 goals, scoring three of them while setting up five others. He was clutch in the latter stages of the game as well, scoring the game-tying goal with 1:35 to play and setting up the game-winner just 15 seconds later. He opened the week with two goals at Maryland, becoming the 10th Mountaineer to break 100-goal plateau when he found the back of the net with 2:27 to play in the first quarter.
