Not ready to relinquish the NEC Rookie of the Week award, Fischer put forth a second straight prime performance while helping No. 7 Fairleigh Dickinson to another winning weekend. The freshman lefty posted a 20.42 frame average over the course of the three-day Delaware State Capital City Classic. She struck frequently, cashing in on 56.8 percent of strike attempts. During the five-match traditional team play portion of the 28-team tournament, Fischer posted a 206.0 game average that featured a 257-pin performance in a victory over event host Delaware State. She was nearly as effective during baker matches, averaging 20.3 pins per baker frame. Fischer’s effort helped the Knights to a 4-1 record on Friday, which followed a quad-baker format. The Knights’ lone loss was a tight 38-pin to defending NCAA champion Maryland Eastern-Shore.
