Diosa helped bring the Blackbirds to the brink of program history. Following a 6-3 showing at the NEC Winter Meet, LIU Brooklyn is three wins away from clinching its first-ever winning record in Northeast Conference play.  Spearheading the Blackbirds’ surge up the standings at what was the second of three regular season NEC meets on the schedule, Diosa posted a team-high 20.74 frame and came through in a number of crucial junctures over the course of the two-day competition.  She threw a strike in 50 of the 90 (.556) baker frames she bowled at the meet, which unfolded at Bradley Beach Bowl in New Jersey. Diosa, who filled more than 85 percent of her frames, was sensational on Sunday when LIU won all four quint-baker matches it contested.  Moving into the 4-hole in the lineup during LIU’s match against No. 8 Adelphi, the third-year Blackbird helped spark a comeback victory.  Picking up a teammate who failed to fill the 8th frame of Game 4, Diosa threw a strike and anchor Brittany Hart followed as LIU took a 15-pin lead over the Panthers. The win over Adelphi started a string of three close matches against Top 15 opponents for LIU.  The Blackbirds went on to edge both No. 10 Kutztown and No. 12 Sacred Heart.  While bowling in the No. 4 spot against nationally-ranked opponents on Sunday, Diosa set up the anchor with a strike 11 out of the 14 time she had the chance.
