Richards’ latest performance shaved 0.14 second off of his 60m hurdles seed time. In his final outing prior to the start of the 2013 NEC Indoor Championships, Richards contested the “Championship Division” at the NYC Armory Collegiate Invitational and crossed the line in 8.08s. While winning his heat, he solidified his standing as the NEC leader. The veteran Blackbird will also hold the top seed in the long jump competition at the upcoming NEC title meet. Although it was not a seasonal-best performance, Richards long jumped his way to a gold medal at the Armory Collegiate. His 7.37m (24’ 2”) mark placed him atop the 50-entrant field in the “College Division.”
