McCant continued what has been an incredible freshman season by moving into the NEC lead in the 500m dash. The first-year Mountaineer flew around the track at the prestigious Penn State National Invitational, capturing a gold medal. Completing the final in 1:13.64, she beat out Temple senior Sheina Roberts by 79 hundredths of a second. McCant’s winning time was 1.97 seconds better than the mark that won the 2012 NEC Indoor title. Shaving more than 2.0 seconds off her previous seasonal best, McCant came in well under the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships.
