Eller not only appears ready to defend her Northeast Conference title in the 800m run, but she looks poised to make a run at the NEC meet record. Contesting the 800m run for the first time this indoor season, Eller immediately surged to the top of the NEC leader board. Clocking in at 2:10.79, the senior was the second collegiate finisher in a stacked, 110-entrant field at the Boston University Terrier Classic. The time was more than 4.0 full seconds faster than the mark that earned her a gold medal at the 2012 NEC Indoor Championships. Should she replicate her performance from BU when the conference title meet commences on Feb. 9-10, Eller would smash the NEC record (2:13.21) that was set by Saint Francis U’s Erika Jacobs in 2007.
