Her collegiate career is only three meets old, but Cotman appears ready for primetime. While competing at the Bucknell Gulden Invitational, the Red Flash freshman put forth a sprint double that would have landed her two top-four finishes at last year’s NEC Indoor Championships. Surging out to the NEC lead in the 400m dash, Cotman crossed the line in 58.00 to take third place at Bucknell. When converted for track size, her 400m time shrinks to a league-best 57.24. The rookie sprinter struck gold in the 200m dash at the Gulden Invitational. Her winning time (25.31), which falls to 24.92 after converting for track size, ranks second on the NEC leader board and makes her an automatic qualifier for the ECAC Championships in March.
