There are only two 20-point performances by NEC rookies thus far this season and they both belong to Peck. The rookie took on a new role this past week and thrived in it. Making the first two starts of her collegiate career, Peck produced back-to-back 22-point showings. The freshman guard shot 52 percent (16-of-31) from the floor while averaging 22.0 points and 3.0 assists per game during a two-game NEC swing against the league’s Brooklyn-based contingent. Peck was vital to Wagner’s winning effort at LIU Brooklyn on Monday night. Helping the Seahawks snap a 12-game slide, Peck made 7 of 9 two-point field goal attempts on her way to a game-high 22 points in a 74-70 road win. She accounted for seven points and an assist during the final 2:02 of the narrow victory. Her clutch free throw gave Wagner a four-point lead with 00:07 remaining in regulation, putting first-year head coach Lisa Cermignano in line for her first career NEC triumph. Peck was sensational from beyond the arc during Saturday’s matchup against St. Francis Brooklyn. The rookie sank 5 of 6 three-point attempts in a 72-66 loss to the Terriers, setting the league’s single-game season high for scoring amongst rookies. Now a three-time Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week, Peck is averaging 9.8 points per contest.
