Leahy enjoyed a breakout performance as Bryant stretched its win streak to three in a row. The freshman center scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds in a 77-71 overtime road win over MAAC member Iona. Coming off the bench to play 30 minutes, Leahy shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from the floor and converted on her lone two free throw attempts. After missing two of her first three shots of the game, she made each of her next six attempts. The 6-foot-2 post player accounted for the highest single-game point total from a NEC rookie thus far this season. Prior to the victory over Iona, Leahy had scored in double figures once over the season’s first seven games. She tallied 10 points in a defeat at Mid-American Conference member Akron on Nov. 16.
