The 2012 Albany Times Union Bowler of the Year is the NEC Rookie of the Week following her first collegiate conference meet. Bidwell started all nine traditional matches and accounted for a 212.9 average while doing so. Helping the Blackbirds to a 5-4 record during their first NEC meet under new head coach Kayla Jones, Bidwell bowled four 220-plus games. She accounted for the team’s weekend high, turning in a 254-pin performance to lead LIU to a 1,010-944 triumph over rival Monmouth. Bidwell also broke the 220-pin mark in the Blackbirds’ record win over No. 13 New Jersey City. LIU produced an all-time program-best 1,112 pinfall during the traditional team match. In capturing the NEC Rookie of the Week award, Bidwell earns an honor that current LIU sophomore Brittany Hart held four times last season.
