Abeid’s efforts off the bench helped Saint Francis (PA) pick up its first-ever victory at Monmouth’s Kessler Field. On his way to being named the Ruby Tuesday Player of the Game at the conclusion of the national television broadcast, Abeid carried 18 times for 119 yards and one touchdown. His second carry of the game was a 39-yard sprint down to Monmouth’s 1-yard line, putting Saint Francis in position to score a touchdown on its opening drive of the eventual 45-31 win. The rookie running back’s 27-yard scoring scamper gave the Red Flash a 31-7 lead with 6:05 remaining in the second quarter.
