Junior Jacob Rubinstein took on the role of hero as the Monmouth Hawks won their fourth straight season-opening contest with a 1-0 decision over Towson last weekend. This week’s NEC Player of the Week, Rubinstein provided the Hawks with the only goal they would need when he buried a corner-kick feed from junior transfer Francois "Paco" Navarro in the 73rd minute. For Rubinstein, it marked his first goal since 2010, when he scored the game-winning tally in a 1-0 win over Saint Francis (PA) in the NEC Championship Game.
