Solomon won the Metropolitan title in the triple jump and has the potential to add NEC Outdoor record holder to his resume in the near future. The veteran Blackbird triple-jumped 15.67m (51’ 5”) on his way to a gold medal at the annual Metropolitan Outdoor Championships, which were hosted by Rutgers. Recording a mark that moved him ahead of teammate Wilmot Stubblefield for first place on the NEC leader board, Solomon established himself as a threat to the meet record that Robert Morris’ Nasim Siddeeq set at the 2008 NEC Outdoor Championships. Now one of two 51-foot triple-jumpers on LIU’s roster, Solomon currently sits 15th amongst all of NCAA Division I.
