Torrell has drastically improved upon the season-opening javelin performance that landed him his first NEC Rookie of the Week award back on March 27. The first-year Hawk went well past the 200-feet barrier to win a bronze medal at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational. Torrell tossed the javelin 64.62m (212’) to move up to second overall on the Northeast Conference leader board. Only fellow Hawk, and defending NEC champion, Vincent DuVernois owns a better mark that Torrell who moved up into the No. 31 spot on the NCAA Division I East Region performance list.
