Zanotta played in all four games of a Northeast Conference series for the first time this season and the results were positive. The first-year Bulldog produced four hits, two RBI, and two runs scored over the course of eight at-bats during Bryant’s series sweep of Quinnipiac. For the week, which also included a 13-5 non-conference win over Northeastern, Zanotta batted .500 (5-for-10) with a double, four walks, one HBP, five runs and four RBI. He earned the start at first base in the mid-week contest at Northeastern and reached base five times (2 hits, 3 BB) against the America East member. Helping Bryant maintain its first-place standing atop the NEC, Zanotta went 2-for-4 with one run scored as the designated hitter in the Bulldogs’ 11-5 series-opening victory over the Bobcats. The second game of the four-game NEC set was the lone hitless outing for Zanotta last week as the rookie grounded out during his eighth-inning pinch-hit appearance. Zanotta was back at first base for Game 3 of the series at Quinnipiac. He produced a sac fly in the fourth inning before singling and scoring in the sixth of the Bulldogs’ 5-2 victory. The 6-foot, 220-pound, left-handed swinging Zanotta did not start the series finale, but came on to pinch hit in the DH spot during the fourth inning. He laced an RBI double in the eventual 22-4 triumph.
