Bryant’s senior first baseman wielded a big bat during what was a perfect week for the Bulldogs in terms of win-loss record. Skagerlind entered the week batting .287 for the season, but his average now stands at .314 following a productive five-game stretch. The left-handed swinging Skagerlind batted .500 (12-for-24) with eight runs scored and six RBI over the course of five victories, the last four of which came in a NEC series at Quinnipiac. The fourth-year Bulldog hit safely in all five games, and recorded at least one hit, one run, and one RBI in four of the five contests. Six of his 12 hits went for extra bases, including a pair of home runs against NEC pitching. After a 3-for-6 day that included two doubles and three runs scored in a 13-5 mid-week win over America East member Northeastern, Skagerlind opened Bryant’s four-game set at Quinnipiac by putting forth another three-hit performance. He went 3-for-5 at the plate with one runs scored and another batted in during an 11-5 win on April 20. Skagerlind produced one of Bryant’s four hits and was also hit by a pitch in a 1-0 Game 2 triumph. The following day, he went deep in both halves of the Bulldogs’ second double header sweep. After he doubled and scored in the fourth frame of Game 3, an eventual 5-2 win for Bryant, Skagerlind homered to lead off the sixth inning. The 5-foot-10 first baseman, who also sees time as the designated hitter, crushed a two-run bomb to right field as part of a six-run first inning in a 22-4 victory that completed the series sweep on April 21.
