Palmer powered the Bobcats’ lineup to a memorable series victory over Mount St. Mary’s in Northeast Conference play.  The third baseman batted .647 (11-for-17) to lead an offensive effort that plated 35 runs in four games without the benefit of a single home run ball.  Palmer scored six runs and drove in another four to help the Bobcats take three out of four NEC games from the Mount.  Overall, Palmer logged 13 hits, eight runs, and five RBI during a week that also included non-league games with UConn and URI.  He opened the weekend NEC series by going 5-for-5 at the plate with a walk in Friday’s 17-3 triumph.  Palmer drove in two runs and scored a pair as well in what was head coach Dan Gooley’s 500th career victory.  The right-handed swinging sophomore recorded two hits in each of the next three games of the Bobcats’ series with Mount St. Mary’s.  His RBI single in the first inning opened the scoring for Quinnipiac in Game 2 of the series, an eventual 7-2 win. Palmer provided extra-inning heroics in Game 3 a 5-4 victory for the Bobcats.  With the game tied at 4-4 through the 7.0 innings of scheduled play, Palmer doubled to lead off the eighth frame and came around to score the game-winning run on a one-out single.  He went 2-for-5 with a run scored in the series finale Sunday.
