Capp picks up her second NEC Player of the Week nod of the spring after leading Robert Morris to a sweep of Saint Francis (PA) and a split with Kent State. The senior went 8-for-14 at the plate with two extra-base hits to top the squad in both average (.571) and slugging percentage (.857). She led the team with six RBI in four games and also posted a three-hit game and a multi-RBI game against both of the Colonials’ opponents this past week. She opened the week with a 3-for-4 performance at Kent State, during which she blasted her sixth homer in the teams past 15 games. Capp followed that effort by knocking in two more runs in the nightcap. The Pennsylvania native then opened Saturday’s play against in-state rival Saint Francis by going 3-for-4 with two RBI to collect her ninth multi-hit game of the season and the 25th of her career. Capp, who now has a three-hit game against four of RMU’s past five opponents, registered her ninth multi-RBI game of the season and the 20th such effort in her career in the first game of the day. For the season, she leads the team and the league in RBI (31) and sits fifth in the conference in average (.375) and slugging percentage (.571).
