The NEC Field Athlete of the Week is a Monmouth thrower, but for once his name is not Vincent Elardo. Instead, javelin thrower Vincent DuVernois claims the honor. DuVernois won claimed a gold medal at the Raleigh Relays after unleashing the top throw in the Northeast Conference thus far. The defending NEC javelin champion threw 65.35m (214’ 5”) to top the field at Raleigh and qualify for the IC4A Championships in the process. DuVernois has shown potential to throw even farther, having hit 66.10m at the 2011 NEC title meet.
