Elardo won both throwing events at the 2012 NEC Indoor Championships and looks intent at adding to his hardware collection outdoors. Competing at the annual Monmouth Outdoor Season Opener, Elardo surged atop the NEC leader board in both the shot put and hammer throw. He was the highest collegiate finisher in both events at the open meet and also posted a third-place finish in the discus. Both Elardo’s shot put (17.01m - 55’ 9.75”) and hammer (55.56m - 182’ 3”) distances exceed the qualifying standards for the IC4A Championships in May.
