It was the same old song and dance for Bryant’s Kevin Massa last weekend. In a 10-9 double-overtime win over Stony Brook, the rookie midfielder went 16 for 24 in faceoffs and collected 10 ground balls for the Bulldogs, who now have won four straight behind the four-time NEC Rookie of the Week’s talents. For the day he finished with a 66.7% winning percentage, including a perfect 100% (2-2) in overtime, to boost his league-leading FO win percentage to 64%, a figure that ranks seven percent better than the next closest competitor. As of last week, Massa ranked fourth nationally in faceoff winning percentage while Bryant, as a team, placed first overall. Additionally, the Huntington, NY native ranked second among Division I men’s lacrosse players in ground balls, gobbling up nearly eight per game.
