With Sacred Heart looking to pad in NCAA Championship selection resume, Trudell was in tune at Vanderbilt’s Music City Classic. The second-year Pioneer averaged 20.23 pins per frame over the course of the three-day tournament that ended with No. 8 Sacred Heart having topped No. 9 Sam Houston State in the fifth-place match. Her overall frame average was the best amongst all NEC bowlers who contested the annual event and the 210.8 game average she put forth during Saturday’s traditional match play ranked second overall on the tournament’s individual leader board. Trudell, who was an all-NEC first team selection as a freshman, turned in a 238-pin performance in a setback to eventual event champion Nebraska and followed with a team-high 244 game that spearheaded SHU’s win over No. 15 Wisconsin-Whitewater. She filled 117 of 139 (.842) frames bowled throughout the course of the weekend and struck on over half her chances while doing so (.503 strike percentage). Her 95 strikes, a number of which came in pressure spots according to her head coach, led all NEC bowlers in the Music City. SHU head coach Becky Kregling summarized Trudell’s weekend by saying, "Her strong and consistent performance on the demanding lane conditions included many clutch strikes in the tenth to win matches."
