Stubblefield traveled to South Florida to lift the lid off the outdoor campaign, and the third-year Blackbird returned home to Brooklyn with a program record under his belt. Stubblefield triple jumped his way to a gold medal at the USF Bulls Invitational, hitting the 51-foot mark in the process. His winning leap (15.54m; 51’), which proved to be five centimeters better than runner-up Kevin Bostick of Rutgers, instantly makes him a favorite to claim the NEC title come May. The mark smashed an 18-year old LIU program record, and should he repeat the performance at the NEC Outdoor Championships he would become the new meet record holder.
